Toray commercializes the greening system by applying PLA fiber in South Africa. May, 2015

【Supercategory:6. Products Subcategory:6.3 New products of 2015

Toray is succeeding in greening the waste land and desert by applying the system composed of PLA (polylactic acid) fiber. Toray is demonstrating the prevention of mine dump dispersion in South Africa with this system since 2013. As the mine dump contains a small amount of radioactive substances in some cases, the dispersion of mine dump to the residential area may cause a serious environmental hazard. Toray confirmed the complete prevention of dump dispersion even in strong-windy areas, and plans to commercialize the system in near future by estimating the market size in South Africa.
