Unitika Trading Co., Ltd. developed “PALPA made with Sorona polymer.” The spinning fibres are made by Unitika’s own technique to produce special fibres having multiply overlapped layers, by using Sorona polymers that are produced by DuPont’s biotechnology and include 37 percent of PTT resin. The eco-friendly polymers have unique characteristics such as extra softness, stretchability and resilience. Polyesters are used as the core and cottons are used as the sheathes for PALPA. The combination of these materials enables PALPA to have high strength. PALPA is used for clothing and the texture is comfortable. Its wrinkle resistance is superior to that of cottons, and its water absorbency, quick dry and static electricity control are superior to those of polyesters.
