Watanabe group focuses on dense and highly‐oriented arrays of semiconductor nanocrystals, such as 1D‐like ZnO free‐standing nanowire arrays and 2D‐like MoS2‐based hetero‐nanostructures, as macroscopic materials exhibiting unique nanoscale properties. We aim to devise them as potential materials of novel sensor devices and portable power generators, as key components of sensor networks. We also enabled in‐situ electrical / optoelectronic testing of individual nanostructures under nano‐mechanical loading based on SEMCathodoluminescence (CL) nanospectroscope, which reveals nanoscale properties and their potential applications.
