TORAY has developed a new material for clothing with thermoplastic cellulosic fiber. November, 2014

Toray Synthetic Textile Cluster has developed about 20 % lighter clothing material than conventional products with thermoplastic cellulosic fiber. An apparent specific weight of the new material is decreased 1.1 from 1.3 of the conventional products by devising the cross-sectional structure. The new material has a favorable property of absorption/desorption of moisture and is good in chromatic appearance. It is also characterized by luster, cool touch and dry/soft hand. Toray Synthetic Textile Cluster is marketing the material mainly for ladies’ jacket and blouse in Autumn/Winter.
