TEIJIN has developed a lead-free piezoelectric material with plant-based poly(lactic acid) film, and will mass-produce it within 2 years. The piezoelectric materials are mainly composed of lead zurconate titanate (LZT), and no material was available to replace lead. TEIJIN succeeded in making a lead-free piezoelectric material by applying the lamination technology, and started supplying for trial. TEIJIN expects to expand its market in the field of wearable terminals by appealing the environmental merit.
