TORAY has developed carbon fiber with higher tenacity. June, 2014

　TORAY has developed carbon fiber “TORAYCA T1100G” possessing both higher tenacity and higher modulus. TORAY’s original calcination technology enables to control the fiber structure in nano level, and resulted in 10 % higher tenacity than the available carbon fiber. The modulus also increased about 10 %, and in consequence the usability is improved in the application to the area of sports or aerospace industry where high impact strength is required. A high performance prepreg was also developed by the use of “TORAYCA T1100G”.
