Teijin Frontier developed a heat-resistant dust collecting filter, which is produced based on their meta-aramid fibre Teijinconex. The fineness of the fibre is 0.5dtex, which is the finest among heatproof fibres in the world. It is equivalent to about a half of that of their existing fine-fibre-made heat-safe dust collecting filter. The fibres are formed into a nonwoven fabric in order to be used for making the filter. After demonstration experiments to be conducted in 2018, the Teijinconex based filter would be put into markets on a full scale in 2019. It has a high dust collecting ability and a long lifespan, as well as the heat resistance. A targeted market is Asia where environmental restrictions have been reinforced more and more. Teijin Frontier already commercialises a heat-sensitive dust collecting filter made of polyester nanofibre and operates the business. If the Teijinconex based filter is ready for launching into markets, they will aim to capture the demands for the two different type filters.
