Toray has produced a stain-proofing textile Technoclean EX whose predecessor is Technoclean having characteristics in that, processed fibers are not easily stained and are able to easily remove stain. Technoclean satisfies the world's highest standard in easy-to-remove product. In Technoclean EX, hydrophilic polymers and hydrophobic polymers are sterically arranged in a uniform manner on a nano level to make the most suitable condition, in a process of forming chemical coating. Such an arranged polymers help the coating not to be uneven, and make it chemically well combined with fibers of various kinds and shapes. This success allows a staple fiber fabric to have a high stain-proof performance that is equivalent to Technoclean, the fabric being combined with natural fibers like cottons. Toray plans to market Technoclean EX in a wide range such as general apparels, bedclothes, and home decorating items. More specifically, it is now planned to apply to uniforms, dress shirts, denim clothes, sheets, curtains and rugs.
