【Supercategory:6. Products Subcategory:6.5 New products of 2017

Toyobo will more actively explore new markets of a filter for removing radioactive material. In order to capture demands for the filter used for such as radiation therapy in a medical field, they are planning to cooperate with a Japanese company whose profession is to manufacture removal systems of radioactive material. The filter, which includes activated carbon fibers, has notable characteristics in which waste volumes can be reduced through incineration. That is, it can help reducing disposal cost and landfill space. As Toyobo is the only producer of such incineratable fibers, they aim to expand their operation worldwide to grow the unique product to their core business.
