MAJOR RESEARCH INTERESTS Our laboratory works on the follicle dynamics of mammalian ovary and the differentiation of ovarian follicles in vitro. The mammalian ovary contains numerous non-growing and growing follicles; we are studying the factors that allow continued follicular growth in vitro, especially the transition from preantral to antral follicles are an area of current interest. I am particularly interested in the differentiation of the ovarian interstitial cells and its roles in the regulation of follicular growth. We are isolating and analyzing interstitial cells from mammalian ovary. Cattle and rat is the primary animal model for these studies. A variety of techniques, ranging from histological methods to molecular methods, are employed in experiments in vivo and in vitro.
