Using transgenic and other technologies, Associate Professor Kunihiro Shiomi and his research team analyzed the way insect brains perceive seasonal changes such as the length of day and temperatures, and how insects utilize these changes. Associate Professor Shiomi aims to develop a biological sensor and discover a gene with new functions, while proposing to learn lifestyles from insects.
