Research Statement

In recent years, robots accomplish remarkable evolution. And it is expected that the evolution will continue in future. One of the keyword about the evolution of such robots can include "Autonomy" of the robot. "Autonomy" is an ultimate function of the intelligence information system, and it is a rule / ability to act by oneself without being commanded. I think that the robot can become the social partner helping it without stress for a human being through the acquisition of the ability of "Meaning understanding of the information", "importance recognition", "emergence / the understanding of a purpose / the intention", "self-reference / an evaluation / restoration".

I have carried out mainly the researches about the autonomous control of “UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)" for several years. And in this work, I have achieved the autonomous control of various UAVs. And now, I aim for realizing "Ultimate Autonomous Robot System" by developing the past study. In this system, the robot itself thinks about all duties without a human being giving them instructions. Specifically, I'm carrying out the research about the cooperative control of aerial robots and ground robots. I put sensors and a computer on a commercial radio control helicopter and radio control car and perform "Autonomous Robotization" of them and aim at the establishment of the methodology of the cooperative control and study it every day.

Aspiration

I want to make a laboratory summoned to world's most in the field about the autonomous robot. And it is my dream that win the championship at the international competition of the autonomous robot which came to be held in many parts of the world. Moreover, through making such an attractive laboratory, I want to bring up and the produce the excellent students.
