| Kotani Collection | One of the largest collection of the materials about mountains and mountaineering containing nearly 8,000 volumes of books and magazines. It was donated in January 2003 by Mr. Ryuichi Kotani, the alumnus of the former Matsumoto High School, one of the predecessor of Shinshu University. | Central Library |
| Collection of Clans | Shinano country's each clan schools Japanese and Chinese documents, 124 titles 1,180 books. They had come from Chozenkan of Takashima Clan, Dokushojo of Iida Clan, Sukyokan of Matsumoto Clan and Shoyukan of Tatsuoka Clan. They had been took over by Chikuma Kengaku, later Kaichi School, after the Meiji restoration and had been transferred to Nagano Teachers College, the predecessor of the Faculty of Education. The collection includes Jiguge edition of Thirteen Classics with Annotations in Ming dynasty, the Collections and Annotations of Canons of the Qing Dynasty edited by Ruan Yuan under Daoguang era and its expansion. |

| Paintings | These paintings had been originally held by the former Matsumoto High School. They had been took over by the Faculty of Arts and Science of Shinshu University, and they have been transferred to the Library. The collection contains 19 pieces of oils, for example, FUJISHIMA Takeshi's "Scenary of Rome", OKADA Saburosuke's "The spring of Shinano". |

| Mizuno collection | This collection was originally owned by the former professor MIZUNO Tomoaki, died in 2005 during his career, and was donated by his bereaved family. Main subject of if is Old English poems and myth study, especially that of Northern Europe. |

| Matsumoto Women's Teachers College materials and Tako archives | This collection had been held by the Matsumoto Women's Teachers School, one of the predecessor of Shinshu University. Tako archives is the archive of Tako family, who had been the hereditary professor at the clan school Sokyokan.
