LibraryTOPICSEducation Faculty Library: Installation of new group study room(Nagano (Education Faculty) Campus)The nation’s rst and largest Comprehensive Database of Archaeological Site Reports in JapanA group study room was installed on the 2nd floor of the Education Faculty Library. This new group study room, which was created as a free space enabling students to study while engaging in discussions with their peers, has become a lively hub for group work, presentations and other activities.Shinshu University Archives was established on April 1, 2017. The purpose of the archives is to provide information on the history of Shinshu University and to hand this down to future generations. The archives will also play a role in documenting the history of education in Nagano Prefecture as a whole.The Library is a member of the Repository of Archaeological Reports project. We have made digitized versions of excavation reports in Nagano available online. Nearly 2,500 reports (the largest number in the country) have been archived. In addition, our library is the rst and only one in Japan to start a repository for other prefectures, in this case Yamanashi and Niigata. Reports registered in Nagano, Yamanashi and Niigata Prefecture account for about 20% of all reports in Japan.12University LibraryShinshu University Library holds a large collection of books, e-books, e-journals and academic databases for consultation by members of the University. The library has common learning spaces and offers students the chance to consult graduate students acting as Learning Advisors.The University Library collaborates with nearby public libraries on mutual book lending and borrowing projects, enabling users in the community to access the Library resources.The Library supports learning and researchShindai Nana-chanSpecial Collections - Kotani Collection and MoreThe Library acts as a repository for a wide range of precious books and works of art, such as paintings. These are contained in various individual collections, including the Kotani Collection, one of the most important collections of materials related to mountains in Japan, along with the Kita Morio Book Library and the Ishii Tsuruzo Art Collection.
