Takyu LabIn the FutureAfter GraduationRecently,thewirelessmoduleisappliedtothevariousobjects,suchaselectricalpowermeter,electricalappliances,andvendermachines.Suchcommunicationshasrecentlyattractedmuchattention,andtheyarecalledmachine-tomachine(M2M)anddevice-to-device(D2D)communications.Aswirelesscommunicationsisspreadingoverourlife,securityandsensoraremuchmoreimportant.Wireless Security and Wireless Sensor Network for Secure and Comfort LifeThealumnusofourlaboratoryplayactiverolesasresearchersindevelopingthewirelesscommunicationsinthemanufacturingindustriesandwirelesscommunicationvendors.Electrical& Computer EngineeringOsamuTakyu,Ph.D.Associate ProfessorFrom 2004 to 2005, he was visiting scholar in the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, University of Sydney. His research topics are wireless communication technology.Recently,smartphoneachievestheexciting,enjoyable,andconvenientlife.Thisisbecausewirelesscommunicationcansupporttheexchangingofmessagethroughtheinternetanytimeandanywhere.However,itiseasyforwirelesscommunicationtoleaktheprivatemessagebecausetheelectricalwavespreadsoverthefieldspace.TakyuLabpaysattentiontothewirelesssecuritytechnologies,suchasthepenetrationanalysisofelectricalwaveandartificialnoise.Formonitoringthevariouscondition,suchasbuilding,animal,andhuman,thewirelesssensornetworkispowerful.TakyuLabisstudyingthewirelesssecuritytechnologyandthewirelesssensornetworksforthesecureandcomfortlife.Eavesdroppermaydrawtheprivatemessagethroughtheintermediatenodeinwirelesscommunication.Ajammingorartificialnoisemakesitdifficult.ExperimentationofWirelessSensorNetworks.ThisisoneofthesystemmodelsforMachinetoMachineCommunications(M2M)orInternetofThings(IoT).Alotofsensorscanchecktheconditionoftrainsforsafetytravel.Manypeopleareusingwirelesscommunicationservicessuchascellular-phone/smartphonecommunications,terrestrialdigitalbroadcasting,andwirelessLAN(Wi-Fi)onadailybasis.Theseservicesaresupportedbymanywirelesstechnologiessuchasspreadspectrum,OFDManddiversitycombining.Inthislab,wetheoreticallyinvestigatetheperformancesofthosetechnologiesinordertorealizeanewwirelesscommunicationsystemwithusabilityandefficiency.Cellular-phones/smartphonescommunication,terrestrialdigitalbroadcastingandwirelessLANservicesrequirehigh-speed(broadband)wirelesschannelsandexclusiveterminals.However,atrackingsystemforchildren’ssecurity/safetyandanautomaticmeteringsystemforelectricity/gas/waterdon’trequirethem.Wetakeatheoreticalapproachtoexploreawirelesssystemthatusesalow-speedchannelsuchasafree-ofchargevoicechannel,asitconsumeslessenergy,thusischeaperandalsoiseasiertouse,FumihitoSasamoriProfessorReceivedDr.Eng.degreefromWasedaUniv.in2000.ResearchAssociatesince2000andAssociateProf.since2006withShinshuUniv.Researchinterestsincludedigitalmobilecommunicationssystems.We design and implement an OFDM digital signal processing on a microcontroller over voice grade analog channels.Theoretical Approach to Realize WirelessCommunication with Usability and EfficiencyIn order to simulate wireless systems, we build a PC cluster with which many PCs can be virtually viewed as a high spec computer.Wirelesscommunicationengineersareinhighdemandinnumerouscompaniessuchastele-communicationscarriers,railwaycompanies,electricpowercompanies,andelectricalmanufacturers.Wirelesstechnologiescanbeappliedinvariousfieldsofengineering,sosomegraduateschangetheircareersforcareerenhancement.SasamoriLabIn the FutureAfter GraduationElectrical& Computer Engineering25
