1.0 μmCreation and understanding of new molecules and their reactivity though catalysis developmentTodaLabOurgroup’sinterestisthedesignanddevelopmentofneworganicmolecules.Thereareanumberoforganiccompoundsinyourlife-smallmoleculesinmedicinalandagriculturalchemistrytolargemoleculesinmaterialscience.Organicsynthesisisanessentialtoolforbothacademiaandindustry,andinordertofacilitatefurtherdevelopmentoforganicchemistryweshouldcontinuetryingtocreateandunderstandnewmoleculesandtheirreactivity.Ourgroupfocusesoncatalysisdevelopmentbecausethebehaviorofnewmoleculescanbeevaluatedbytheresultsofcatalyticreactions.Duetotheexpansionofscienceandtechnology,furtherprogressinorganicsynthesishasbeenrequired.Ingeneral,achemicalreactionprovidesnotonlyadesiredproductbutalsoundesiredproducts.Webelievethatcatalysisgovernsorganicreactions,leadingtoselectiveproductformation.Ourcontinuouseffortsonthedevelopmentofefficienttransformationswouldcontributetoindustryaswellasacademicresearchinthenearfuture.Yasunori TodaAssistant ProfessorPh.D.: Tohoku UniversityPostdoctoral Fellow:Vanderbilt UniversityHe began his career at ShinshuUniversity in 2015.
