　グローバルな視野からの研究を加速するため、先鋭領域融合研究群の各研究所に海外から著名な研究者を招へいします。特別招へい教授を中心としたユニット（研究チーム）での招へいも行います。信州大学の強みや特色を生かしながら、各研究所における研究力を強化するとともに、研究指導等を通して学生の教育や若手研究者の育成にも参画し、世界的な教育研究拠点を目指します。In order to accelerate research from a global viewpoint, notable researchers from overseas are invited to each of the institutes of the Interdisciplinary Cluster for Cutting Edge Research. Units (research groups) based on distinguished visiting professors are also invited. The aim is to strengthen the research power in each research institute while utilizing the strengths and characteristics of Shinshu Univer-sity, and form a global level education and research base including education of students and training of young researchers through research guidance, etc.Interdisciplinary Cluster for Cutting Edge ResearchSystem for Inviting Distinguished Visiting ProfessorInterdisciplinary Cluster for Cutting Edge Research先鋭領域融合研究群「特別招へい教授」先鋭領域融合研究群　世界には環境保護、人口問題、エネルギー問題、少子高齢化など様々な問題が山積しています。人類社会がこれらの問題を乗り越えて持続的発展していくためには、革新的なイノベーションが求められています。このような状況を踏まえ、信州大学において特徴的で、融合連携して教育研究に取り組むことができ、将来にわたって継続して必要な教育研究領域に5つの研究所、「カーボン科学研究所」、「環境・エネルギー材料科学研究所」、「国際ファイバー工学研究所」、「山岳科学研究所」、「バイオメディカル研究所」を設置し、それらを包含し融合研究を推進する組織として先鋭領域融合研究群を設けました。本研究群では研究に重点を置ける環境を整備し、外部から卓越した研究者の招へい、若手研究者を卓越した研究者として育成するための新たな人材育成システムの導入などにより、持続的な研究拠点としての地位を維持しながら、次世代の優れた研究者の育成を図っていきたいと考えております。The world has innumerable problems such as environmental protection, population problem, energy problem, low birth rate and aging, etc. In order for human society to overcome these problems and sustainably develop, creative innovation is required. Based on this situation, an Interdisciplinary Cluster for Cutting Edge Research has been established that includes 5 research institutes: the “Institute of Carbon Science and Technology”, “Center for Energy and Environmental Science”, “Institute for Fiber Engineering”, “Institute of Mountain Science”, and “Institute for Biomedical Sciences”. In these research institutes, the education and research areas that need to be continued into the future and that can be undertaken as fusion and collaborative education and research have been selected in accordance with the characteristics of Shinshu University.
