University LibrariesLibraryShinshu University Library provides a large collection of books, e-books, e-journals and academic databases for the university community members. These improvements were carried out to create a research and study environment that is more comfortable for both students and users from the general public.Approximately 600 books from the collection which author Morio Kita (1927 - 2011) once owned were donated to the Central Library by the courtesy of his family. Morio Kita was a graduate of the former Matsumoto Higher School (which was one of the forerunners of today's Shinshu University).The Library is a member of the project, Repository of Archaeological Reports. We have made digitized versions of excavation reports in Nagano available online.Nearly 2,500 reports (the national largest) were archived. In addition, our library is the first and only one in Japan to start the repository of another prefecture, Yamanashi and Niigata. Reports registered in Nagano, Yamanashi and Niigata Prefecture accounts for about 22% of all reports in Japan.
