研究科の概要概要Summary of the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Science and TechnologyJapan has built prosperity as one of the global economic great powers by upholding the criterion of constructing the country by technologies. However, upon entering the twenty-rst century, we face an internation-alized society and information society where the industrial structure is being transformed and the harmonization with the natural environment is being required. In connection with this, the development of original technology in Japan has emerged as an urgent task and a great impor-tance has been placed on basic research and the development of funda-mental technologies.The graduate school program of Shinshu University, developed as a core of the Faculties of Science, Engineering, and Textile Science and Technology, has focused its research and education efforts on funda-mental natural sciences, highly advanced areas of science and technolo-gy, human senses and sensitivity, and bio-functions. The Faculty of Agriculture has promoted research and education on advanced food science and green technology.In the areas of science and technology, together with promoting research and development in the frontier elds, we are strongly required to aim for high-dimensional technology and development which will embrace the harmonization of human beings, out society, and nature. To meet such needs of society, the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Science and Technology, Shinshu University has expanded by adding the research elds of agriculture to the core of science, engineering, and textile science and technology to form an advanced and interdisciplin-ary doctoral program for systematically fostering young researchers.The Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Science and Technology will conduct comprehensive research in harmony between the basic and applied sciences, actively promote cooperative research with the local community and industry as well as pursue research and development of world-level technologies. Our aim is to return research outcome to society and to foster highly qualied researchers and engineers to become forerunners for technological renovation in the twenty-rst century.我が国は、技術立国を是として世界有数の経済大国として繁栄を築いてきました。しかし、21世紀に入り、国際社会、情報化社会を迎え産業構造も変化し、また、環境との融合・調和も考慮しなければならない時代に来ています。それに伴い我が国独自技術の開発が急務とされ、基礎研究及び基盤技術の開発が重要になっています。本学は、これまで、理学部、工学部、繊維学部が中心となった工学系研究科において、基礎科学分野、先端的工学分野、人間の感覚や感性、生命機能に関して高度な教育研究を展開してきました。また、農学部では、食と緑に関する先端的な分野について高度な教育研究を展開してきました。これからの科学技術においては、先端分野の研究開発を一層進めると同時に、人間と社会、自然との融合・調和を重視する高次元技術の総合的な研究・開発を志向していくことが強く求められています。このような社会からの要請に応えるために、本研究科は、農学研究分野を含む先進的・総合的な科学技術の研究体制をとり、そのもとで博士研究者を系統的に育成することを目的としています。すなわち、本研究科では基礎科学と応用科学が有機的に関連した総合的な科学研究を行い、世界的レベルの基盤技術開発を推進すると共に、地域・産学官連携研究を積極的に進めます。そして、本研究科はこれらの研究成果を社会に還元することと21世紀における新たな産業創成の中核を担う高度専門職業人を社会に輩出することを目的としています。本学大学院総合工学系研究科は、理学部〔松本キャンパス〕、工学部〔長野（工学）キャンパス〕、農学部〔伊那キャンパス〕及び繊維学部〔上田キャンパス〕における教育・研究を母体とした博士課程（標準修業年限３年）です。「生命機能・ファイバー工学専攻」、「システム開発工学専攻」、「物質創成科学専攻」、「山岳地域環境科学専攻」、「生物・食料科学専攻」の５専攻をもって構成されています。The Doctoral Degree Program in the Interdisciplinary Graduate School of Science and Technology of the Shinshu University is composed of the Doctoral Degree Program (for 3 years, standard years required for com-pleting the course), which is associated with the Faculty of Science in Matsumoto (Matsumoto Campus), the Faculty of Engineering in Nagano (Nagano-Engineering Campus), the Faculty of Agriculture in Minami-minowa (Ina Campus) and the Faculty of Textile Science and Technology in Ueda (Ueda Campus).２１世紀における新たな科学技術の創製We aim at the creation of the most advanced science and technologies in the 21st century.趣旨・目的Signicance and Purposes2
