Pigments extracted from samples are very beautiful and intriguing. To collect new samples, we go to lakes in alpine areas. On the way, we can see the beautiful fall foliage in autumn. Actually, I did not have so much interest in the fieldwork and I chose this theme to learn how to use analysis equipment. But now that I've noticed there is a lot more out in the field than in the labs, I feel I have more curiosity and interest in science than ever before.Studying the cycles of substances in the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere and the cycles of substances through means of lifeIn this department, we conduct education and research in the global system research field focusing on the cycles of substances in the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and geosphere, and in the ecological system research field focusing on the cycles of substances by means of life. When acid rain flows into soil, even if the soil is not contaminated, heavy metals will elute out. Especially, there is concern about the effects of aluminum and manganese The results of our study show that the forest soil in Nagano Prefecture also suffers from aluminum elution causing a hindrance to microbial activities.Soil acidificationRecentCareerPaths
