Study mathematics with us, surrounded by Shinshu's beautiful natureYoshiakiSuetsuguStarted in 2014 / Dr. Takagi's LabHi! At present, in my seminar, I'm researching functional analysis. The research is not easy, but when I come to understand a complex theory, I feel a great sense of accomplishment, and it motivates me to go further. Faculty teachers give me excellent advice and guidance, so I am greatly encouraged, and my studying is enjoyable. I hope I can achieve beneficial results in my research in the wonderful natural environment of Shinshu. To everyone intending to join our graduate school, let's work together!DEPARTMENTOFMATHEMATICALSCIENCESDepartment of Mathematical SciencesTopology is an area of mathematics that seeks the properties of figures (or space) preserved under continuous deformations as "core" nature. In the chair of algebraic and geometric topology, we research algebraic and geometric topology, including low-level topology. There are two types of research in mathematics: one is "static research," where the researcher wrestles with his/her subject in his/her own world; the other is "dynamic research," where the researcher seeks complex answers or theories through discussion with his/her colleagues or other researchers. Here in Shinshu, we have an excellent environment for both static and dynamic research necessary in mathematics.Yasushi Taniuchi, ProfessorPartial Differential EquationsResearch on non-linear partial differential equations(esp. Especially, our research focuses on representation theories of finite groups, association schemes, Lie rings, quantum groups, and Hecke rings, and combinatorics related to them.Chair of Research of Algebraic StructureIn this chair, we research mathematical structures we can find in natural or social phenomena. Here, some of the subjects of research are: mathematical physics handling phenomena in physics; dynamical systems and integrable systems that are mathematical structures derived from physics; and probability theories that can be applied in many fields such as economics. If appropriate, we proceed with the research while setting up hypotheses by use of computer simulations.Chair of Natural and Information Sciences-11SHINSHU UNIVERSITY GRADUATE SCHOOL OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY MASTER’S PROGRAM011
