Study on mechanism of fruiting in mushrooms
To develop an efficient cultivation method to obtain fruiting bodies of mushrooms, 600 cDNAs specifically expressed at primordia (young fruiting bodies) were isolated from Flammulina velutipes. Gene manipulation methods (genetic transformation and RNA interference) were developed to analyze a function of unknown genes in various species of mushrooms.
