【Supercategory:7. DESCENTE SPORTS SCIENCE Subcategory:7.33 Vol.33

Introduction: Recently, the number of female patients complaining of dizziness caused by hypotension have been rapidly increasing. However, there is no effective treatment for managing such symptoms. KAATSU training could improve circulatory dynamics of the patients and reduce their dizziness. The purpose of this study is to investigate the benefits of wearing compression stockings on patient's dizziness accompanying hypotension.
Materials and Methods: Compression stockings were used therapeutically for seven females complaining of dizziness with hypotension for 8 hours per day. Symptoms were evaluated by the visual analog scale (VAS).The objective outcome was also evaluated by the surface area in posturography.
Results: The intensity of dizziness was significantly improved in five (71%) of seven patients. Surface area in posturography was reduced in three of five patients. Moreover, hypotension itself improved in patient 1 and the orthostatic hypotension improved in patient 7.
Conclusions: These findings indicate that wearing compression stockings is effective for managing dizzy patients with hypotension.
