Effects of Compression Stockings on the Feeling of Dizziness in Female Patients with Hypotension
【Supercategory:7. DESCENTE SPORTS SCIENCE Subcategory:7.33 Vol.33】
Materials and Methods: Compression stockings were used therapeutically for seven females complaining of dizziness with hypotension for 8 hours per day. Symptoms were evaluated by the visual analog scale (VAS).The objective outcome was also evaluated by the surface area in posturography.
Results: The intensity of dizziness was significantly improved in five (71%) of seven patients. Surface area in posturography was reduced in three of five patients. Moreover, hypotension itself improved in patient 1 and the orthostatic hypotension improved in patient 7.
Conclusions: These findings indicate that wearing compression stockings is effective for managing dizzy patients with hypotension.
