Our research goal is to elucidate the biological
functions of glycan chains expressed on cell surface or secreted from cells under pathological
conditions such as cancer and inflammation. To this end we are examining human pathological
specimens as well as transgenic/knockout mice for glycosyltranserases using a variety of
analytical techniques including pathology, biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology,
and immunology. |
Ongoing projects in our laboratory are as follows:
* Role of O-glycans expressed in gastric mucosa infected with Helicobacter pylori
* Role of O-glycans expressed in gastric malignant lymphoma of MALT type
* Role of chondroitin sulfate E expressed by glioma cells on tumor progression |
