9 Evaluation for Tenured Position: Tenure evaluation is scheduled in the first half of the fifth year. The candidate, after successfully passing the evaluation, will be appointed as a tenured faculty member (with the mandatory retirement age of 65) from the sixth year. The tenure evaluation will be based on the achievements in research, education and administrative activities. The details of the evaluation criteria will be briefed at the time of a hiring interview.

受賞対象となった発表論文のタイトルは、「地下水制御型帯水層蓄熱（ATES）システムの開発」で、現在、独立行政法人新エネルギー・産業技術総合開発機構（NEDO）の助成事業として工学部講義棟に導入がすすめられている地下水利用型空調システムの設計に関する研究となります。
若手優秀講演賞は35歳以下の発表者が対象で、評価基準は講演要旨の新規性、有用性、完成度・期待度および発表内容の完成度、発表態度、発表時間となっています。
平成23年10月20日に開催された日本地下水学会秋季講演会にて表彰式が行われました。
]]>信州大学工学部電気電子工学科の田代晋久助教・脇若弘之教授のグループが、日本AEM学会技術賞を受賞しました。
この賞は電磁力と電磁現象の解析および応用に関する研究分野に技術上の寄与が大きいことを認められた論文に贈られる賞です。
受賞対象となった論文は「コイルを組み合わせた開口部を有する磁気シールドの検討」です。安価かつ高性能な磁気シールドは宇宙磁場環境模擬や生体磁気計測に不可欠な高感度磁気センサの校正に必要とされています。本研究は共著者の平成20年度社会人修士卒業の久保田晃弘（多摩川精機株式会社），平成21年度修士卒業の松岡信仁（現，鹿島建設），平成21年度学部卒業の松村啓志郎（現，修士2年）らの修士・卒業研究の成果が大きく寄与しています。
平成23年11月14日～16日に高雄（台湾）で行われた国際会議MAGDA2011の期間中に表彰式が行われ，田代助教に賞状とメダルが授与されるとともに，英語による15分程度の記念講演が行われました。
]]>平成23年11月2-4日、名古屋大学にて開催されましたThe International Workshop on Advanced Sonochemistryにおいて、工学部物質工学科酒井俊郎研究室に所属する三輪翔一君（大学院工学系研究科物質工学専攻1年生）が、Young Sonochemist Award of Japan Society of Sonochemistryを受賞いたしました。受賞しました研究発表は、“Spontaneous formation of gold nanoparticles from tetrachloride gold(III) ions in sonicated water” (共同発表者：工学部物質工学科岡田友彦助教、工学部物質工学科三島彰司教授、国際若手拠点酒井俊郎助教)となります。超音波化学反応のメカニズムの解明につながる研究成果として高く評価されました。
