Attached Schools and Facilities
The Faculty of Education includes three attached facilities and six attached schools.
Attached Schools
Shinshu University has a total of six attached schools : kindergarten, elementary, junior high and special needs schools - spread across the Nagano and Matsumoto campuses. Working to gain an understanding of children and students through direct contact in teaching practice and training, graduate students are able to acquire clinical knowledge by being able to actually practice the subjects and teaching methods they learn at university. Students at each school gain a self-awareness of issues, so they eagerly study and research education methods through a close relationship with their subject matter, and each year they participate in public workshops where they announce and present the results of their work. This way, schools also become a place of learning for newly appointed teachers. So when they move to other schools throughout the prefecture, they can use the skills they have acquired in the attached schools to become key members of their own schools.
- Kindergarten

Children at kindergarten spend their days in play, growing up strong through a range of personal experiences with people and things around them.
- Special Needs School

With a name change from disabled school to special needs school, the 55 children and students enjoy their days guided by the catchphrase, "doing what we can with a smile."
- Nagano Elementary School

Wonder, discovery and discussion. This school enables children to be children, with a gleam in their eyes as they set themselves to their daily tasks of animal breeding, plant cultivation and community-based exchanges.
- Matsumoto Elementary School

This school seeks to realize the catchphrase, "Active children, Focused children, Friendly children," with a special focus on group activities such as musical gatherings and get-togethers.
- Nagano Junior High School
