To establish cultivation techniques of mycorrhizal mushrooms, we have tested mycorrhizal syntheses in the various fungus-plant combinations under both in vitro and open-pot culture conditions. Tricholoma, Suillus, Lactrius and other genera are the targeted fungal taxa.
To clarify the diversity of ectomycorrhizal associations in the Japanese forest ecosystems, we have described mycorrhizal morphology and anatomy. DNA fingerprinting of the mycorrhizal associations has also been conducted.
To progress the study field of mycology and mycorrhizology, we have tired to detect and estimate symbiotic fungi from soil, and then establish pure culture of those fungi.
