Since becoming a national corporation, there have been yearly reductions in the budget that Shinshu University receives from the national government, and it is faced with the inevitable task of seeking other sources of revenue. Your support and contributions are of utmost value and importance.

Regarding donations from organizations and private enterprises
Shinshu University is obligated by the [Law Concerning Access to Information Held by Administrative Organs] Law No. 140, December 5, 2001, Article 5 (Public Disclosure Act) to make available to the public information about donations upon request.
Please be aware that for contributions from organizations and private companies, information such as the name of the company or organization, the department in receipt of the donation, and the amount of the donation may be publicly disclosed.
Information about contributions from private individuals is protected by the Privacy Protection Law and will not be disclosed.

Processing and handling your donation
Your completed Donation Form will be forwarded to the respective department and a decision will be made to accept or reject your donation. After a review by the respective departments, a collective review will be held 3 times per month (1st, 10th, 20th). After review by the Department of Research Promotion, the final decision will be made by the President of the University.

For donations from a business entity
You can claim the full amount of your donation as tax-deductible. Corporation Tax Law No.37, Chapter 3, Article 2
For donations from individuals
You can claim your donation (up to a maximum of 40% of gross income) minus 5,000 yen as a tax exemption. Income Tax Law No. 78, Chapter 2, Article 2 *Revised April 1, 2007 In order to claim a tax deduction, you must show proof of your donation to Shinshu University. If you need a receipt for tax purposes, please contact our office and we will issue one after confirming payment of your donation.
