Message from Dean, Faculty of Textile Science and Technology

The Faculty of Textile Science and Technology, through a curriculum that combines fundamental and applied science educates individuals in cutting edge fields based in textile science, such as New Materials, Mechatronics, Bioscience and Sensitivity Engineering. Through advanced research and innovation in new technology we are creating new lifestyles. In particular the Global Center of Excellence Program (COE) of our Interdisciplinary engineering Postgraduate Doctoral Research program, with our academic staff at its center, culminated in the establishment in 2007 of the International Center of Excellence for Frontier Fiber-Textile science. We accept postgraduate applications from overseas, assist with living and research needs as well as assist students going overseas. We are educating international research specialists in cutting edge technology. We are also working on several large government projects to promote interdisciplinary cutting edge research, such as Nanotech High Function Fiber, support and assistance for young researchers through the Fiber Nanotech Young Researchers program and the Second Generation Intellectual Cluster program.
To facilitate international cooperation between universities and postgraduate programs, and educate internationally capable technicians and researchers, we make use of the TOEIC English language education program through all levels of the faculty. In conjunction with the Fiber Technicians Center, we are the only faculty in the country to provide lectures for people sitting the Expert Technicians exam, which produces highly skilled specialist technicians.
